End of Summer

We’ve been out of town on vacation, so the blog has been more quiet than I like. A few highlights from our trip:

Florida trip part 1: Tallahassee to see Tim’s side of the family

  • Adelaide’s first plane trip; the return trip without Dad
  • Adelaide met her great-grandmother for the first time and helped celebrate her 90th birthday
  • Cuban food, BBQ, sweet tea
  • Adelaide showing off to Gram’s co-workers
  • Rare movie night out to see Moonlight Kingdom
  • Pool party with friends and their kids who we rarely see

Florida trip part 2: St. Augustine beach with Gram and Papa

  • Adelaide’s first beach experience – toes in the water, eating sand, no fear
  • Historic sightseeing: trolley tour, visit to the fort

Now that we’re back, I’m looking forward to fall. The weather is already cooler, and I’m thinking of apple picking, changing leaves, visiting the Philadelphia Zoo and Please Touch Museum. We have a vehicle again (yay!), so we’re basking in our re-gained freedom. I have lots of ideas for new blog posts, including ones that are much overdue (can we say Adelaide’s first birthday?). Autumn is my favorite time of year. I don’t know if it’s the feeling of “going back to school” that makes things feel anew, but fall always brings the sense of new beginnings. Stay tuned.
