Sequential screenings

The first in my series of sequential blood tests came back with great results.  The average chance for someone my age to have a child with Down’s Syndrome is 1/290.  My blood tests show the chance lowered to 1/3,200.  The average chance for Trisomy 18 for my risk group is 1/1,000.  My tests show the risk lowered to 1/10,000.  Good news.  Great news, even!

Sigh of relief……until the next round of tests.

I guess this is what being a parent is like.  Always concerned about something.
